FAQs

What kind of books do you write?

I write thrillers and suspense novels with romantic (and sometimes paranormal) elements. My latest trilogy is a romantic medical/psychological thriller series called the Things Unseen Series. My debut trilogy, The Healing Edge Series, is paranormal romantic suspense. My writing weaves together authentic love stories, edge-of-your-seat suspense, quirky humor, and a soul of awe and mystery.

What is the “heat level” of your books?

While there is plenty of emotionally charged romantic tension, no intimate scenes occur “on screen,” which places my books in the “low heat” romance category.

You write quite a bit about mental health in your books and on social media. Why is that?

I have coped with anxiety and ADHD since childhood and dealt with depression in my twenties. It was a desire to help others with similar issues that drew me to a career in psychotherapy. While I am no longer a mental health provider, I strive to be an advocate, increasing understanding and fighting stigma.

Do the books in your series have to be read in order?

While I would recommended reading them in order for maximum enjoyment, each book is written so that you can pick them up and enjoy them as stand-alone works. It’s your call!

What are you working on now?

I just finished writing the third and final book in the series, DEAD LATE. Check out my inspiration board on Pinterest here, and stay tuned for further updates! We’re also celebrating the release of the audiobook version of DEAD KEEN, Book 2 in the Things Unseen Series, which follows the main characters Neve and Cornelius to Ireland. I’m delighted that like DEAD SOUND, the first book in the series, it was recorded by brilliant narrator Lisa Kay!

What digital tools do you use while writing books?

I use Microsoft Word, and within that program I use spell check and grammar check. I also use an online thesaurus and dictionary. I’m grateful for internet search engines, which can be a great tool for research. But that’s it for digital tools. In the era of AI, I guess that makes me “old school,” or a Luddite!
